We welcome Liz to our Mission Valley Team this week! Elizabeth is passionate about helping individuals uncover their strengths and thrive, even in the face of life’s challenges. She values creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward their goals. Elizabeth’s approach is rooted in client-centered, strength-based practices, and she integrates techniques grounded in evidence-based practices. She specializes in fostering an environment of unconditional positive regard, believing that this foundation is essential for growth and healing.
With several years of experience in the helping field, Elizabeth began her career supporting students in achieving their personal and professional goals. She has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with intellectual and physical disabilities.
As a mental health counselor, Elizabeth supported individuals experiencing homelessness with severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance use challenges in community mental health settings. She has extensive experience helping clients on their journey to recovery, fostering resilience and promoting healing. Her work has consistently focused on providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals navigating complex challenges.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling with a focus in Clinical Mental Health from San Diego State University. She is also certified in co-occurring disorders and remains dedicated to lifelong learning to best support her clients. Elizabeth is a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#18431) and is supervised by Glen Hilton, LMFT.
